Have you been reading about changes to the NDIS in the news and worry about how it affects you? The NDIS is difficult for many people to understand at the best of times and now proposed changes may make it even more confusing.

There are many organisations that can help you such as Disability Advocacy groups, providers that you use may have a Customer Liaison type person who can explain supports and then there are Support Coordinators, good and not so good.

If you have a good support coordinator, you will have support to understand your plan, understand how to apply for more or different types of funding to meet your needs and be more confident with the process.

One indicator of whether a support coordinator may be needed is this. Do you look at the plan and see the funding you have asked for or do you think, how can I use this? If it is the latter, some support may be useful but it is always your choice.
